Applications of grinding mills in phosphogypsum and desulfurized gypsum
Phosphogypsum, an industrial solid waste, has long threatened the ecological environment and harmed public health. Now, by using an industrial phosphogypsum grinding mill to pulverize it into powder, it can be applied in the production of paper-faced gypsum board, laminated board, PVC-faced gypsum board, etc., thus opening up a path for the comprehensive utilization of industrial solid waste.
Currently, China’s accumulated stockpiles of phosphogypsum exceed 100 million tons, posing a significant threat to environmental safety. On the one hand, due to the limited storage capacity of slag heaps, the treatment of backwater during heavy rains is difficult, putting considerable pressure on the surrounding environment. On the other hand, the long-term stockpiling of slag heaps not only occupies a large amount of land resources but also incurs substantial annual operating costs, increasing production costs.

Although phosphate chemical industry has become a major direction for industrial applications, many phosphate chemical industrial cities face various problems due to factors such as low resource utilization rates, significant environmental impact, a single product structure, few refined and deep-processed products, and a short product chain.
Therefore, for existing phosphate chemical enterprises, adopting a clean production path that emphasizes intensive, large-scale, deep processing, low cost, and low pollution, based on scale, technology, product structure, and management level, can, to some extent, resolve the contradiction between industrial development and ecological protection.
Some companies use equipment such as high-pressure grinding mills to process phosphogypsum. Their process involves first crushing the phosphogypsum in a pulverizer, then grinding it in a grinding mill, and finally packaging and selling it to the building materials industry. Building material companies, in turn, use complete sets of processing and molding equipment to process it into building materials for use in the building materials market. However, some companies use a different approach: they employ calcination technology, which allows them to produce high-quality phosphogypsum products without adding desulfurized gypsum.
