Rotary Kiln Material Storage Methods

When calculating storage capacity for a cement plant, the storage period for various materials must first be determined. Based on the daily material requirements in the material balance sheet, the required storage volume for each material is calculated. Then, the storage method is selected: raw materials, cement, and certain dried materials must be stored in circular silos; wet iron powder, wet clay, and wet coal are suitable for storage in sheds; limestone and gypsum transported in large quantities can be stored in open-air stockpiles; while crushed limestone is best stored in circular silos. Finally, the type, specifications, and quantity of storage silos are selected and determined.
